UBS has taken over the leadership position in the Diversified Financials Industry Group of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). This acknowledgement of the way UBS approaches corporate responsibility underscores the firm's comprehensive commitment to sustainable performance.

"We're proud to be recognized for our commitment to doing what's right for our clients and other stakeholders. Making sustainability the everyday standard at our firm is a cornerstone of our business values," says Christian Leitz, Head of UBS Corporate Responsibility Management.

The DJSI is published by S&P Dow Jones Indices – one of the world’s largest providers of financial market indices – and sustainable investing specialist RobecoSAM. It evaluates companies' sustainability practices and recognizes the best performers.

In its Industry Group Leader report for UBS, RobecoSAM cited UBS's support for clients and communities and its integration of societal and financial performance. It also pointed to UBS's work to build its capital strength, improve efficiency and effectiveness, and strengthen risk management through its UBS and Society program.

Notes to editors

In Rate the Raters, published in January 2014, the DJSI was identified as the most widely recognized sustainability rating.
