April 8, 2021 Where is Latin America heading?

Conversation with Michael Stott, Latin America editor of the Financial Times

Live discussion

How long will it take Latin America to recover to a pre-pandemic scenario? According to the World Bank, Latin America’s growth is expected to reach 3.7% in 2021, due mostly to a rebound after contracting 7.7% in 2020. This marks the deepest recession among the world’s emerging economic regions. The region’s recovery will depend in part on effective vaccine distribution and stable oil prices, and in a year of multiple elections, its leaders will need to focus on human, health, and economic recovery.
