London/Moscow, 24 January 2014 – UBS today announced that Rair Simonyan will join the bank as Chairman of the Board of Directors of OOO UBS Bank, Russia subject to approval, and Elena Titova as Group Country CEO, Russia.

Rair was at Morgan Stanley from 1998-2012, where he was first Managing Director and President of the firm's operations in Russia, before becoming Chairman for Russia. Most recently, Rair was an Advisor to the President of Rosneft on financial assets and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Russian Regional Development Bank. Rair holds a degree in Economic Geography from Moscow State University and a doctorate in Economics from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the USSR Academy of Science.

Elena spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, where she became President for Russia and CIS, before moving on to Morgan Stanley where she spent six years, attaining the role of President, Chairperson of the Executive Board from 2009-2012. Elena was most recently President and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Russian Regional Development Bank. She has a degree in Economics from Moscow State University and an MBA from Kellogg Business School.
