Zurich/Basel, 6 July 2012 – Euromoney has presented UBS with six awards, including the highly prized awards for being "Best Bank in Switzerland" and "Best Global Wealth Manager". UBS also walked away with further awards for "Best Investment Bank in Asia", "Best Equity House in Australia", "Best Equity House in China" and "Best Investment Bank in the Philippines".
Business magazine Euromoney explained why it named UBS "Best Bank in Switzerland" by stating: "UBS is demonstrating that it can make the most of its entire franchise, with cross-selling between its wealth, asset management, retail, corporate and investment banks accounting for 20% of all its revenues in Switzerland."
The awards were presented at a ceremony in London on July 5. Lukas Gähwiler, CEO of UBS Switzerland, said: "Over the last two years, we have worked very intensively to expand our position as Switzerland's leading universal bank. We have taken a major stride forward in these efforts, and it is gratifying to see this acknowledged and recognized outside the Group as well."
