Helena Morrissey

Helena Morrissey joined Newton Investment Management Ltd. in 1994 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2001. Prior to her appointment, Morrissey was Head of Fixed Income, managing a number of global bond funds. She was twice named "Global Bond Fund Manager of the Year" by Investment Week. In 2007, Global Investor recognized her as "CEO of the Year." In 2010, Financial News named her "Most Influential Woman in European Asset Management." She began her career at Schroders in New York City, serving as a global bond analyst.

A Director of the UK's Investment Management Association, Morrissey also represents the industry on the Financial Service Authority's Practitioner Panel. Currently, she is spearheading the "30% Club," a UK cross-business initiative to have 30% women on company boards by 2015.

A member of the Royal Academy's Corporate Board, Morrissey is a regular speaker at conferences on topics ranging from the future of the fund management industry to developing female talent. She is a Cambridge philosophy graduate.
