The Edinburgh team
Client Advisors are responsible for looking after your wealth management needs, from helping to decide your overall wealth strategy through to advising on issues such as investment products and pension planning. As well as being your main contact at UBS Wealth Management, he or she will also be your gateway to the wider expertise of UBS, should you need specialist advice from our mortgage solutions team or help with selling your business, for instance.
Scott joined UBS in 2006 and has over 30 years' experience advising wealth individuals and entrepreneurs in Scotland. He was previously with Adam & Company and Clydesdale Bank and has an MSc in Investment Analysis from Stirling University. He also holds the ASIP and MCIBS designations. Scott is married and has two daughters. He is a keen hill walker and can also be found lamenting the generally poor state of Scottish football from his vantage point in the stands.
Having worked for UBS Investment Bank, Kate moved to UBS Wealth Management in 2007 to work with private clients. Kate gained a first class Honours Degree from Aston Business School and, in her free time, enjoys outdoor pursuits in the great Scottish countryside and exploring exotic locations abroad.
Matt joined UBS in 2013, bringing with him 16 years of experience in wealth management. Previously, he worked for Merrill Lynch in the US and Bank of Scotland in the UK before joining the team at UBS Wealth Management in Scotland. Matt is a Chartered Fellow with The Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment and a Chartered Financial Planner with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Gerard joined UBS in 2015, bringing with him 16 years of experience in banking and wealth management. Gerard spent 5 years at Adam & Company plc and over 11 years in various roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland. A member of the Charted Institute for Securities & Investment, he enjoys running, golf and the occasional game of squash.
Phil has been working with wealthy individuals and families in Scotland for over 15 years, having latterly worked for Adam & Company as a Senior Private Banker and subsequently moving to UBS in December 2016. As a member of both the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and the Personal Finance Society, Phil holds the CISI Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualification and the PFS Diploma in Financial Planning.
In his free time, Phil enjoys travelling to new places, snowboarding, playing golf (badly), watching sport and hopes to complete his first triathlon soon.
Ramsay started his career with Brewin Dolphin Investment Managers in London where he completed their graduate training programme. He then spent four years in Zurich working for a commodity hedge fund before returning to Scotland to work for a private family investment office. He holds an MSc in Finance & Investment Management as well as the CISI Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualification. Ramsay started with UBS in December 2018 and has worked in the industry for over 10 years.
In his free time, Ramsay enjoys watching rugby and playing golf.
Financial Planners work as specialists alongside your UBS client advisor, providing bespoke financial planning advice. A team of Paraplanners and Administrators support our Financial Planners to efficiently execute this advice and, provide you with excellent client service, as well as access to other UBS resources. These resources can range from investment management to estate planning and corporate finance advice, in addition to specific wealth management products and services.
Sean is a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, with 11 years' industry experience. Prior to joining UBS Sean worked at a national law firm providing holistic financial planning advice to high net worth individuals, trustees and business owners. Sean is married with a young daughter and in his spare time enjoys travelling, skiing and keeping fit.
Client Advisor Assistants
Client Advisor Assistants are an integral member of the team who will provide you with most of your day-to-day administrative support including payments, transfers and trades.
Gillian joined the UBS Wealth Management team in 2017 after 2 years as Assistant Relationship Manager in a newly established independent private bank in Edinburgh. Prior to this, Gillian worked for a niche business bank in Scotland and England, covering a number of roles most recently as a Deposits Manager.
In her free time, Gillian enjoys socialising and travel.
Gayle joined UBS in 2004 as the Office Manager before moving on to the role of Client Advisor Assistant. Her previous employers include First State Investments and Royal London (formerly Scottish Life) where she spent 15 years in an HR role.
Greg joined UBS in 2014 as part of the first UBS Apprenticeship Programme before graduating to become a Client Adviser Assistant in 2016. Having gained the Investment Operations Certificate as part of the apprenticeship scheme, he is now studying for the Investment Advice Diploma qualification.
Living in Fife, Greg enjoys socialising, keeping fit and can regularly be found on Aberdour Golf Course.
Ann joins UBS Wealth Management after 22 years at Adam & Company where she worked in the Operations Back Office team and, latterly, as a Private Banking Assistant.
Ann enjoys spending time with friends and family, keeping fit and travelling to hotter climates.
Having graduated in 2016 from Heriot Watt University with a degree in Accounting, Lewis took part in NHS Lothian's first Finance internship. After a subsequent contract in the Income and Corporate Team, Lewis worked and travelled in New Zealand before returning to Edinburgh in Summer 2018. Lewis joined UBS in 2019.
Aidan joined UBS in 2017 as part of the apprenticeship programme after a number of years working within the family business. Gaining the CISI Investment operations certificate as part of this process he is now studying towards the CISI Investment Advice diploma.
Aidan enjoys watching football, travelling and the occasional game of golf.
Hannah joined UBS in 2017 after relocating from London to Edinburgh. She has previously worked at Accountancy firm Haines Watts before moving onto Nutmeg Saving and Investment for two years.
Hannah enjoys being outdoors but is equally happy being at the cinema and reading a good book.
