Exchange Traded Funds

Sustainable investing has also been a key focus for UBS ETFs for more than a decade, and today, we are one of the largest providers of sustainable ETFs in Europe (source: etfbook.com, as of 30 June 2022). We have been among the first to bring pioneering sustainable solutions to the market, and will continue to innovate for our clients.

 

ETFs have grown in popularity among institutional investors in recent years, and sustainable strategies in particular have expanded to become a crucial part of their asset allocation. We engage with our clients to exchange ideas and feedback. This helps drive our product innovation and efforts to provide a diverse ESG offering for our clients.

Indexed and rules-based

We bring more than 10 years’ experience of managing index portfolios tracking sustainable indices. We have ESG standard and custom indices, low carbon indices and rules-based strategies, we replicate third party indices and we construct custom indices in collaboration with both clients and index providers. 

 

We have a proprietary rules-based / self-indexing offering and we can apply screening/tilts based on client specified metrics. 

We source fundamental and ESG data from a range of third party databases and our portfolio management system allows us to construct efficient portfolios that benefit from our extensive research and back-testing experience. We utilize a range of in-house research and best-in-class data, collaborating between index, sustainable, active and quantitative teams to deliver for our clients. 

Customization

While we offer a range of index and rules-based strategies across asset classes, we specialize in providing customized solutions, with more than 50% of our index accounts being tailored to suit clients’ specific objectives. We have a highly experienced team that will work with you to find and deliver a solution to meet your specific needs.

 

We offer an extensive choice of tailoring solutions – from tilting to achieve a higher ESG score than a defined benchmark, to increasing a portfolio’s exposure to set ESG factors, from aligning to particular UN SDGs to reducing a portfolio’s carbon emissions or carbon intensity compared to a benchmark, from reducing volatility and carbon footprint simultaneously in a global rules-based strategy to constructing research-based custom indices incorporating risk-premia and sustainability factors to clients’ specifications.
