UBS established a presence in Singapore in 1970s, following the merger of Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation in June 1998, UBS has enjoyed a reputation as a leading foreign financial institution in Singapore. Today UBS has over 2,300 employees across its wealth management, investment banking and asset management businesses.
Singapore is one of the two major international booking centers for UBS’s Global Wealth Management business in the region as well as the headquarters for the firm’s Investment Banking business in South Asia. UBS’s equities and equity research businesses are consistently highly rated in media and trade polls. Singapore is also one of the trading hubs in Asia for FRC (FX, Rates and Credit).
A major IT and operations center supporting the firm’s global operations, Singapore is also home to the UBS University Asia Pacific located at the historic Command House. The University provides training for employees new to the wealth management and financial industry and ongoing training and professional development for existing employees.
