Tokyo

Despite its size, the Japanese capital feels safe, well-organized and clean. The busy pedestrian crossing in Shibuya is emblematic: thousands of people patiently wait their turn at the intersection, and no chaos erupts. On a clear day, one can see the magnificent snow-covered summit of Mt. Fuji. An equally spectacular vista can be enjoyed from the viewing deck of the Tocho metropolitan government building in Shinjuku: high-rise buildings extend as far as the eye can see (and there is a fancy dining option for those with deep pockets).
