Panama City

Formerly used as a starting point for expeditions to the Inca Empire in Peru, Panama City rose to wealth and fame with the opening of the Panama Canal in the second decade of the last century. A lot has transpired since. The city is currently regarded as a financial hub for Central and South America. The countless skyscrapers overlooking the bay are the modern face of it, but it almost feels as if you've traveled back in time when you visit the charming streets of Casco Viejo.
