Moscow

The mighty capital of the Russian Federation has grown from a tiny village by the river Moskva to a city with four international airports and 12 million people. Impressive sights such as the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Spasskaya tower, Saint Basil's Cathedral and the Bolshoi Theatre are world famous and visited by swarms of tourists every year. A city of extremes, Moscow invites visitors to stroll in Gorky park during its hot summer but can keep them huddled indoors in winter when the mercury plunges (it's nothing a hearty Borsht can't make up for).
