Montreal

This buzzing French-speaking city in Canada's Québec province is famous for its rhythm, student parties and frigid winters, during which its once-dominant professional hockey team formerly ruled the NHL. The streets and architecture display an uncanny French influence. The view from Mount Royal, Montreal's eponym and local mountain, is particularly enchanting in fall, when the maple trees surrounding the peak are covered in red-yellowish foliage.
