Manama

The capital and largest city of Bahrain, Manama sits on a small peninsula in the northeastern corner of the country on the shores of the Persian Gulf. A stretch of skyscrapers in a desert, the city has an extreme climate that is dry and hot for most of the year. A longtime trading center in the region, Manama has gained even more strategic importance with an inflow of oil wealth.
