Chicago

“Windy City” visitors are excused for thinking the nickname derives from the frigid gusts that blow in from Lake Michigan, but its roots are actually in the hot air of its politicians. The birthplace of the skyscraper is the third-biggest US city, as famous for its gangster history and vibrant cultural scene as its stunning architecture. A major financial center with a canyon-like business district, Chicago hosts many Fortune Global 500 companies and has one of the largest workforces in the US. In their off-time the locals indulge in the city’s famous deep dish pizza and observe their number one passion: sports. Chicago has a home team for every sport, and supporting them is a rite of passage.
