What our clients say

Thank you very much for including me on the trip to Liberia. The entire experience was inspiring, fun, informative, productive, and well organized. [You] did an amazing job with the trip logistics, pacing, and safety... [and were] especially impressive leading and moderating the session with former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and the mere fact that she took time to join us is ample testament to the reputation you’ve all built for UBS Optimus.

UBS client and guest on Philanthropy Insights trip to Liberia, 2018

“It was incredibly insightful as a quick tour of a country could possibly be. I enjoyed everyone’s company on the trip; guests and UBS team members. I think it was interesting to observe the different client perspectives. The projects were all amazing and really worthwhile to see, especially with background and in-depth discussion from founders and project directors.”

UBS client and guest on Philanthropy Insights trip to Nepal, 2018

“My own philanthropy strategy was empowered and informed. Not just from conversing with and learning from my peers who accompanied me on the trip, but also from unique first-hand insights, anecdotes, and dialogue with project partners on the ground.”

High potential programs

Each program is supported by the UBS Optimus Foundation and has been identified as high potential – they’re all seeking to increase their reach and impact through funding from our clients and UBS.

India, September 2019

In a country with some of the highest illiteracy and child bride rates in the world, we are partnering with organizations tackling these fundamental challenges, from inequality in school to modern day slavery.

We’ll visit:

Educate Girls and the Kaivalya Education Foundation are tackling systemic problems in schools such as gender inequality. Justice and Care is rescuing victims of sex trafficking and prosecuting the traffickers.

South Africa, November 2019

This trip travels across South Africa. Along the way, you’ll meet local communities and experience the challenges they face in the realms of child protection, healthcare, and early childhood development.

We’ll visit:

Hope and Homes for Children is helping children to move from institutional care to families. The One to One Children’s Fund recruits mentors to support vulnerable expectant mothers and their children. And the Berther Institute and Ilifa are finding innovative new ways to boost early childhood development.
