UBS e-banking

UBS e-banking Ready to go in 7 steps

With UBS e-banking you can carry out all your banking transactions conveniently from home. We show you how in 6 simple steps.

Register account/card

Step 1

Activate your credit or prepaid card so that it will be shown in e-banking

Once you have activated your card successfully, you can check the amount still available and the latest card transactions at any time. You can also manage your cards conveniently yourself – for instance if you want to block a card, recharge credit or set up notifications.

You can activate your credit or prepaid card very easily under "Cards > Service > Register account/card".

Also good to know

Put an end to piles of paper and receive your UBS Credit or Prepaid Card statements securely in E-Banking.

If you reach your card limit, you can transfer money to your credit card whenever you like in real time under "Cards > Payment to card".

If you use up the credit on your prepaid card, you can transfer money to your prepaid card under "Payments > Enter payment".

You can block lost or stolen credit or prepaid cards straight away without having to make expensive phone calls under "Cards > Service". A replacement card will be ordered for you automatically.

Increase or lower the monthly or daily limit of your UBS Debit Card in e-banking under "Cards > V PAY /Maestro".

Define the region in which your UBS Debit Card Maestro can be used (worldwide, in Europe or only in Switzerland and Liechtenstein). This reduces the risk of card misuse.

Under "Cards > Debit cads > Limits & region of use".

You can find a list of all the cards available from UBS under "Offerings > Cards".

You can open new accounts conveniently in UBS e-banking too. All the different accounts available are listed under "Offerings > Accounts".

Set up notifications

Step 2

Activate SMS and e-mail notifications to receive information about account movements

On request, UBS e-banking will inform you about account movements automatically by SMS or e-mail. Activate notifications under "Assets > Set up notifications".

For instance you can set up notifications for the following:

  • Credit and prepaid card transactions
  • Debits and credits to your account
  • If the balance in your account falls below or exceeds a certain amount
  • The status of payments

Also good to know

You can also ask to receive notifications by SMS or e-mail about:

  • Incoming messages in your e-banking mailbox
  • The status of stock exchange orders
  • Budget items you have used up in the PFA (see step 4)
Digital Safe Deposit Box

Step 3

Activate the digital safe deposit box for your essential documents and passwords

  • Save important personal documents digitally – securely on UBS servers in Switzerland
  • Manage your passwords and access them wherever you are
  • Keep vital documents e.g. copies of identity papers readily available at all times
  • Save UBS banking documents automatically in UBS Safe

You can activate the safe by clicking on the "Safe" tab in e-banking, selecting the chosen subscription type and following the instructions.

Enter payment

Step 4

Carry out payments more quickly thanks to the payment assistant and e-bills

When entering payments, you can find the recipient as soon as you have typed the first three letters or numbers. Now just choose the relevant line and the payment screen will be completed automatically with all the available details. Search for recipients under "Payments > Payment".

E-bills are another way to make the data entry process easier. With e-bills, you no longer need to type in any data. Instead you can simply approve bills with a click in UBS e-banking. Set up e-bills under "Payments > E-bill".

Also good to know

If you want to make a payment to a new beneficiary, UBS e-banking will ask you for confirmation using the card reader. This is an added security solution to protect you from manipulated payments.

Budget

Step 5

Activate the PFA and keep a constant overview of your finances.

The Personal Financial Assistant (PFA) lets you see exactly where your money goes and where you could make savings. To give you an overview, expenses are automatically assigned to different categories. You can activate the Personal Financial Assistant under "Budget".

Also good to know

The PFA helps you to plan and keep to a monthly or annual budget. Set an amount for each transaction category under "Budget > Budget planning". Then the PFA will compare your past expenses with the budget you have set yourself. You'll soon see whether you can meet your goals.

You can receive messages via SMS or e-mail that warn you if you have used up 70, or even 100 percent of your annual budget for a specific expense category. You can set up this function under "Offerings > Set up notifications > Budget".

Find out even more about notifications under step 2.

The PFA helps you to make regular savings and monitor your progress towards your goals every step of the way under "Budget > Savings goals".

Access Card Display

Step 6

Use the Access Card Display when you're on the move

The Access Card Display is a practical alternative to the card reader that fits in every wallet – an advantage if you want to use e-banking and Mobile Banking at work or on vacation. You can order the card very easily under "Offerings > Means of access"

Step 7

Use UBS Mobile Banking to carry out your banking transactions whenever you want, wherever you want
