UBS PaineWebber: a new name, a continuing commitment.
With effect from today, the US Private Clients businesses of UBS Warburg will be named UBS PaineWebber, better reflecting their relationship to the rest of the UBS Group and emphasising the enhanced products, services, expanded research and global capabilities offered to their clients following the merger.
Since its founding in 1879, PaineWebber has undergone many significant changes while becoming one of the US's pre-eminent financial services firms. But perhaps no event has had as profound an impact as the merger in 2000 between PaineWebber and UBS AG. But while their name may have changed, there's one thing that hasn't: UBS PaineWebber's commitment to create personalised investment solutions for private clients in the US.
