WITNESS has celebrated 25 years of supporting people to defend human rights, with a benefit event in New York City last night (9 November). A Night For Change featured various speakers and performers, including People's Champs, pictured above.
The organization was founded in 1992 by singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel, following the brutal beating of Rodney King Jr by Los Angeles police officers.
Since then, WITNESS has reached 260 million people with its materials and videos, is represented in 108 countries and has trained more than 7,100 people to become human rights activists using their cameras.
WITNESS marked the milestone with a dedicated hashtag #WITNESS25 and website
