Multi-sector Where are people starting to return to work?
UBS Evidence Lab uses Google foot traffic data to show whether people around the world are returning to work, doing more shopping/leisure activities, or staying at home.
- In India and the UK, the number of people going to work is down ~60% since early this year, though it has been rising for the past couple of weeks.
- European countries have seen the biggest increase relative to late March.
- In EMEA, Sweden and Germany are the leaders, while Spain and South Africa lag.
- In APAC, Singapore saw a sharp decrease between late March and late April.
- In the Americas, Brazil has edged up, while Mexico, the US, and Canada have fallen further.
