UK consumer How has COVID-19 affected online grocery shopping in the UK?
As the UK online grocery market has grown during the pandemic, it has also fragmented.
- Amazon has been losing share of app downloads – from 45% in 2019 to 26% in 2020 YTD (as of 18-Apr-20).
- Several apps have seen their share of downloads double or nearly double, including ASDA, Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Morrisons.
- In April, ASDA and Sainsbury's apps continued to gain download share, while Morrisons and Tesco Groceries pulled back.
