Madeleine Schuppli

Madeleine Schuppli has been a member of the UBS Culture Foundation Board since 2007, the same year she was appointed director of the Aargauer Kunsthaus. She is also a member of the board of trustees of the Fondation Nestlé pour l'art and was a member on the board of the Pro Helvetia Foundation from 2000 to 2011. In 2001 she was awarded a Federal Scholarship in art mediation.

After completing her studies in art history with a thesis on Otto Dix (1994), Madeleine Schuppli worked as curator for the Kunsthalle Basel (1996-2000) and was director of the Kunstmuseum Thun (2000-2007). During this time she studied cultural administration at the University of Basel, completing her studies with a Master of Advanced Studies degree (2002). Since 1996 she has served as an expert of contemporary art on several panels for art colleges and art awards and been engaged in bodies dealing with architectural art.
