UBS is proud to mark its 13th year as sponsor of the Beijing Music Festival.
Our support of this premier festival is in line with our commitment both to the promotion of excellence and innovation in the arts and to the continued development of the China market.
The centerpiece of our sponsorship is the concert at Wangfujing Church. Colloquially known as the ‘Church concerts’, performances at this historic venue are one of the highlights of the Beijing Music Festival’s annual program.
This year, UBS is pleased to present an exclusive concert by renowned American organist, Cameron Carpenter.
Carpenter is a virtuoso composer-performer who defies the stereotypes of organists and organ music, and is the recipient of worldwide acclaim. Designer of the multifunctional digital International Touring Organ, which enables organ music to be played anywhere, Carpenter's vast repertoire includes the complete works of J.S. Bach and Cesar Franck, as well as hundreds of transcriptions of non-organ works, original compositions, and collaborations with jazz and pop artists.
Carpenter trained at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, holds the 2012 Leonard Bernstein Award and is the first solo organist to be nominated for a GRAMMY Award for a solo album. He regularly appears as a soloist with many of the great orchestras around the world, and signed an exclusive multi-album recording contact with Sony Classical in 2013.
UBS is delighted to welcome Cameron Carpenter to the Beijing Music Festival as part of its continuing support of outstanding musicians.
