SBB communications head Stefan Nünlist to be new head of Corporate Communications at UBS Switzerland

Zurich/Basel, 30 August 2012 – With effect from November 1, 2012, Stefan Nünlist will take over as head of Corporate Communications at UBS Switzerland. The post involves having responsibility for UBS Switzerland's public relations and internal communications. Nünlist is succeeding Peter Hartmeier, who had earlier communicated that he intends to retire in the first quarter of 2013.

Nünlist is currently working as head of communications and public affairs for SBB AG. From 2001 until 2010 he was the Chief Communications Officer for Swisscom AG and a member of the company's Executive Board. Having been admitted as an advocate and notary, he previously trained as a diplomat at the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (FDFA). He served as personal advisor to former Federal Councilors Jean-Pascal Delamuraz and Pascal Couchepin in the Federal Department of Economic Affairs (FDEA) and was head of communication for the electricity company Aare Tessin.

Nünlist's wealth of experience, connections, and outstanding track record will enable him to play a major role in shaping and further developing the way UBS communicates both internally and externally in its vital home market, Switzerland. He will be joining the Executive Committee of UBS Switzerland under the leadership of Lukas Gähwiler and the global Communications and Branding Executive Committee and will be reporting to Chief Communications Officer Michael Willi.
