UBS launches algorithmic trading in Indonesia

Singapore Media Releases APAC

UBS today announced the launch of algorithmic trading in Indonesia. The launch of UBS Algorithmic Trading on the Indonesian stock exchange will enhance the ability of its clients to interact with the market's liquidity. They will be able to utilize UBS's advanced algorithmic trading strategies - including UBS Tap - in addition to UBS's established Direct Market Access (DMA) offering. And, as a member of the Exchange, UBS's offering will allow clients to quickly and efficiently send their electronic orders directly to the Exchange without them passing through an intermediary.

"As interest in the Indonesian market continues to grow, clients have increasingly requested access to algorithmic trading products in order to improve their interaction with the market's liquidity. The suite of advanced trading strategies will complement our well-established Direct Market Access offering, which has accelerated both the speed and efficiency of electronic trading in the market. Economic development in Indonesia, like many ASEAN markets, has meant greater levels of liquidity and contributed to the steady inflow of funds into the market, which is a trend we expect to continue." said Yang XIA, Head of Direct Execution Services for UBS in Asia Pacific.

"UBS is committed to providing advanced access to liquidity across Asia and we now offer direct algorithmic trading in ten markets in Asia Pacific. Our electronic trading tools and strategies are designed to accommodate the unique characteristics, order flow and opportunities of each market and as a result our clients enjoy enhanced opportunities for best execution and a consistent trading experience wherever they trade," added Xia.

UBS was voted by clients as having the Best Electronic Trading and Online Equity Products in Asia by Asiamoney and the Leading Provider of Algorithmic Trading for APAC clients by The Trade in 2010.
