UBS launches enhanced UBS Australia Bond Indices
UBS, the provider of Australia's benchmark bond indices, today announced the launch of the new AUSBOND indices website (www.ubs.com/ausbond). The new release builds on the respected UBS Australia Bond Indices providing clients with additional functionality, including the ability to create their own customized indices.
For the first time, clients can easily create their own bespoke indices which can be benchmarked against the existing UBS Australia Bond Indices. They can be created based on either S&P, Moody or Fitch ratings and on sectors defined by the client.
The new AUSBOND website provides clients with greater analytical tools allowing clients to measure and chart the performance of the market more easily. It also provides web based (FTP) delivery of index reports as well as the existing rate sheets and index research.
Simon MAIDMENT, Head of Fixed Income, Australasia, UBS Investment Bank said: "UBS's significant presence in the Australian market has enabled us to continually enhance, develop and improve the Indices. Both the technology and outputs have been improved with this new version to provide clients with all the tools they need."
The UBS Index series has also been expanded to include new indices covering the swap market and measures of bond performance versus swap and government bonds as well as indices based on rating. The new indices include:
UBS Australia Swap Indices
UBS Australia Credit Rated Indices
UBS Australia Spread to Swap Indices
UBS Australia Spread to Bond Indices
MAIDMENT commented: "Our clients rely on the UBS Australia Bond Indices to provide a stable and objective basis for evaluating the performance of the debt market. Today the UBS Indices are the single most widely accepted measures of Australian debt market performance with an estimated 90% of fixed interest funds benchmarked against them."
