UBS Warburg Names Joseph Mezrich Head of U.S. Quantitative Research

UBS Warburg today announced that it has named Joseph Mezrich head of U.S. Quantitative Research. Mezrich will be based in New York and report jointly to Alan Scowcroft, global head of Quantitative Research and Raul Esquivel, head of U.S. Equity Research. At UBS Warburg Mezrich will focus on providing valuation, scenario and investment environment analysis, sector and stock modeling and program trading support.

Mezrich joins UBS Warburg from Morgan Stanley where for the past four years he served as head of Quantitative Strategy. Prior to that he was deputy head of Equity Derivatives Research at Salomon Brothers. Earlier in his career he was a research analyst at both Exxon Corp and RCA Labs.
Mezrich holds a PhD in mathematical psychology and an MS in mathematical statistics from the University of Michigan. He also holds both MS and EE degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Engineering from Polytechnic University.
