UBS Asset Management hires Michael Baldinger to lead expansion of global Sustainable and Impact Investing business

Zurich / London / New York, 8 July 2016 – UBS Asset Management (‘UBS AM’) today announces the appointment of Michael Baldinger as Head of Sustainable and Impact Investing. In this newly created role, Michael will be responsible for establishing a world-class Sustainable and Impact Investing business across asset classes.

Michael joins UBS AM after seven years at RobecoSAM, an international investment company focused on sustainability investments, where he held the position as CEO from 2011-2016. Prior to this, he was Head of Distribution for the Americas at Credit Suisse Asset Management and spent 10 years in Equity Sales at Bear Stearns and Deutsche Bank.

UBS aims to become a leader in sustainability in the financial services industry. UBS's key program in this regard is UBS and Society a cross-divisional umbrella platform covering all of the firm's activities and capabilities in sustainable investing.

Michael will be appointed a member of the UBS and Society Operating Committee and chair the Asset Management Environmental, Social and Governance Committee. Michael will be based in New York and will report to Dawn Fitzpatrick, Head of Equities, Multi Asset and O'Connor.
