On 1st August 2013, Min Lan Tan was appointed APAC Regional Head, Chief Investment Office (CIO) at UBS Wealth Management. Her primary responsibilities involve directing research and supervising portfolio performance and CIO communications in APAC including Japan.
In heading APAC research, Min Lan will drive content creation, leveraging in part on the Investment Bank’s extensive resources, and ensure that APAC's views are incorporated into the global asset allocation process. Min Lan serves as a member of both the Global and Emerging Market (EM) Investment Committees, which formulate the global UBS House View. Previously, since September 2012, Tan Min Lan was Global Head of Macro Strategy Research at UBS Investment Bank. She joined UBS AG in August 2002 as Strategist and Head of Equities Research for Singapore. She was concurrently appointed Head of Equities for Singapore in August 2007. Prior to joining UBS, Min Lan spent seven years at Merrill Lynch in a number of capacities. These include equity strategist for Singapore and Malaysia, regional economist for South East Asia, and Asia Pacific equity strategist with a focus on Asian emerging markets. Before entering the financial services industry, she was a senior economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Min Lan is a CFA charter holder. Between 2003-2012, Min Lan was ranked the #1 analyst in Singapore by Asiamoney for ten straight years.
