Head of Global Asset Allocation
Andreas J. Koester, is the Head of Global Asset Allocation at UBS CIO WM, responsible for the strategic and tactical asset allocation (SAA, TAA) processes. Andreas transferred to UBS CIO WM in March 2017 from UBS Asset Management where he started in 2009. He was a Head of Multi Asset and had overall responsibility for setting strategy across the entire range of the Multi Asset team's asset allocation and currency capabilities, including both traditional benchmark relative and absolute return oriented mandates. Before joining UBS, he previously worked at Schroder Investment Management where he was Head of US & European Multi Asset Solutions and was also a member of their global asset allocation and alternative investment committees. Prior to joining Schroder in 2005, he worked for AXA Investment Managers and Commerzbank Asset Management in various portfolio management and asset allocation roles. He began his career in the investment banking division of Société Generale.
Andreas' team has developed a global SAA methodology which dynamically adjusts portfolios to evolving financial markets. By employing cutting-edge portfolio construction methodologies he built the foundation for turning the WM business into a leading global investment manager. He is a frequent speaker at internal and external events and conferences alike.
