  • Wallonia has, at least for now, vetoed the EU-Canada trade deal (because the government of Belgium's Wallonia region can veto seven years of negotiations). This may not be the most optimistic of signals for the British government as it seeks to negotiate its exit from the EU.
  • The data calendar for Tuesday is a sort of groundhog day, repeating Monday. We have sentiment data. We have central bank speakers. This is not what makes economics exciting.
  • French Insee business confidence and the German ifo economic confidence numbers are due in the wake of Monday's PMI sentiment readings. The French PMI did disappoint expectations, but this has happened before without any adverse economic consequences.
