UBS AG and Rochester-Bern Executive Programs today jointly announced the launch of a master's study program for experienced UBS client advisors. The two-year program provides participants with the knowledge and competencies to operate successfully in the changing conditions in the wealth management industry.

Zurich/Basel/Bern/Rochester, 24 April 2014 – The program developed by Rochester-Bern and UBS AG is targeted at UBS Wealth Management's experienced client advisors worldwide, with the exception of those in the US. The two-year program combines academic content with practical content from UBS speakers. In addition there are lectures delivered by selected, internationally recognized practitioners and researchers. Between courses, participants apply the material they have learned in projects relevant to their own areas of business.

Participants attend four course blocks, as well as a further series of individual courses covering not only topics such as financial markets, investment management, strategy and leadership, but also ethics, corporate finance, behavioral finance and risk management. Graduates may use the title "Master of Science in Wealth Management" of the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester, as well as "Master of Advanced Studies in Finance" from the University of Bern. The company-specific program meets the academic standards and regulations of both the University of Rochester and the University of Bern.

Jürg Zeltner, CEO UBS Wealth Management: "The wealth management industry is undergoing extensive change. The operating environment for banks and their employees is becoming more complex and clients are more demanding. This study program is both our response to the growing challenges and our commitment to establishing high professional standards with an international formal accreditation for the profession." Launching the master's study program marks another important step in UBS's enduring effort to promote its employees' long-term development and to improve the service it provides to clients.

A thorough evaluation process led UBS to select Rochester-Bern both for its executive education experience and for its requisite network of expertise, stemming from its cooperation with the Simon School at the University of Rochester as well as the University of Bern and the Swiss Finance Institute. Claudio Loderer, head of the Institut für Finanzmanagement at the University of Bern and academic director of Rochester-Bern: "For us it is both interesting and challenging to support top client advisors at UBS with a further education program that will enable them to tackle market challenges in the best  interest of clients, employees and society."
