UBS's position in its own shares has moved above the statutory stock exchange reporting limit of 5%. On 23 February 2001, UBS held 5.1 % (22.8 million) of its registered shares, and a potential 2.2 % in the form of derivatives. The position includes 18.4 million shares (4.2 % of registered shares) which will be cancelled following the approval of the Annual General Meeting on 26 April 2001. The remaining shares include purchases by UBS Group Treasury for employee share ownership programmes, and a limited position held by UBS Warburg for trading purposes.
