Literacy may be defined as "* the ability to read and use written information and to write appropriately, in a range of contexts that develop and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of content." In essence, it is the ability to communicate using the written word.

However it is of equal importance when you are doing an exam to understand the material and to have the technique to correctly present the information.

We have split literacy into three key areas. All of these areas are of equal importance for your studies in class and also in the exam room.
