UBS Wealth Management was named the Best Private Bank in Asia and the Best Private Bank in Hong Kong in their ‘Awards for Distinction’ earlier this year.
In its Best Private Bank in Asia citation, Asian Private Banker said that, "Trumping its peers, UBS Wealth Management (WM) is the deserved winner for the second consecutive year, having distinguished itself on many fronts", they noted. "While many banks in Asia claim ‘people’ to be their ‘biggest asset’, UBS is the only bank in the region to have a dedicated campus for training and a diploma program."
In its Best Private Bank in Hong Kong citation, Asian Private Banker said that, "UBS WM’s localised innovation is clearly evidenced…it was one of the first private banks to launch a Dim Sum Bond Fund for private clients, resulting in one of Asia’s biggest investment fund initial public offerings to date."
Commenting on the awards, Kathryn Shih, CEO Wealth Management, APAC said, "These awards are a testament to the strength of our wealth management business and our commitment to Asia. Our business model is based on being a reliable partner to our clients; we are able to achieve this thanks to the solidity of our financial institution, the quality of our advice and the trust we have gained among our clients."
UBS Singapore staff and their families joined the Minister of National Development, Khaw Boon Wan, to plant trees at the UBS Business University Asia Pacific, Command House campus in support of a nationwide green initiative.
Minister Khaw and UBS Singapore Country Head, Edmund Koh, planted a tree together just in front of Command House. Ten new trees were also planted within the campus in support of the development of the Kheam Hock nature way.
Said Edmund Koh, "Having operated in Singapore for more than 40 years, UBS is proud of its long history here, community involvement and the high level of staff volunteerism. We have made a conscious effort to ensure that our campus is operated in an environmentally responsible manner as part of our corporate social responsibility."
UBS Singapore proudly accepted three of Singapore’s top HR organizational awards at the HRM Awards Singapore 2013 on 1 March at the Ritz Carlton.
UBS was recognized for its achievements in the following categories:
- Kaplan Professional Award for Best Training, Learning & Development (for the second consecutive year)
- Best Fair Employment Practices
- Best Environmental Practices
UBS’s nomination follows extensive research to identify top employers, HR professionals and HR practices. As a finalist in six out of the 17 organizational awards, competition was fierce as UBS went head to head with 83 other finalists, including Deutsche Bank, DBS, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, Google and Ritz Carlton. UBS was the only winner within the financial industry and the firm with the most awards.
Head of HR Singapore and Head of APAC Talent, Moira Roberts, stated that the awards were a great acknowledgement of UBS’s performance.
"These awards are a strong external endorsement of our commitment to be an employer of choice, where the personal growth and development of our staff and caring for the environment and communities in which we live and work are our top priorities."
