One of the most popular events on the calendar, Melbourne will host the Australian Grand Prix for the 17th consecutive year after taking over from Adelaide in 1996. The high speed temporary circuit weaves its way through Albert Park and around a lake and is well known for its incident packed races. The low grip surface makes tyre life unpredictable while the concrete walls which line the track promise to punish even the slightest mistake. Usually, the weather is warm and sunny but rain has been known to intervene and make the race more of a lottery.
