Germany went through a period of F1 dominance when Michael Schumacher was in his prime in the 2000s and it’s going through another now with back to back championships for Sebastian Vettel. Interest in the country’s home grand prix has also remained high with almost a quarter of the drivers on the grid hailing from Germany and strong support from Mercedes Benz. These days the race alternates each year between Hockenheim and the Nurburgring. Hockenheim is a medium speed circuit without any particular distinguishing character, featuring a range of quite technical corners and a stadium section around the pit straight.
