Maria Teresa De Filippis & Juan Manuel Fangio
Maria Teresa de Filippis started racing cars when she was 22. In 1954, she was hired by Maserati as a works driver, after finishing second in the Italian sports car championship. And, in 1958, she became the first female Formula 1™ driver.
Maria’s achievements came with some help from her mentor, Juan-Manuel Fangio. Winner of five Formula 1™ World Championships™ himself, it’s no wonder they called him El Maestro. He encouraged her to push herself, but to never drive beyond her limits. It was because of their dedication and perseverance that Maria was able to compete in this male-dominated sport.
At UBS, we aspire to show the same dedication as both Fangio and Maria. It’s why our advisors work so closely alongside our clients, to help them on their way towards achieving their financial goals.
