Responsible investment
As a responsible investor, you expect us to take into account environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors wherever appropriate. At UBS Global Asset Management we are committed to acting as responsible investors on your behalf.
Across each of our six diverse investment areas, we have established a general approach to environmental and social factors and to corporate governance.
Our Sustainable & Responsible Investment (SRI) team offers a range of broad and thematic SRI funds.
UBS Global Asset Management is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) and a number of other key responsible investment initiatives.
UBS is firmly committed to corporate responsibility and actively strives to understand, assess, weigh and address the concerns and expectations of the firm's stakeholders.
In July 2010, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) published its UK Stewardship Code with the aim of enhancing 'the quality of engagement between institutional investors and companies to help improve long-term returns to shareholders and the efficient exercise of governance responsibilities'.
UBS Global Asset Management is strongly supportive of this new Code. We pride ourselves in putting clients at the heart of everything we do and it is clearly in their best interests for us to exercise our stewardship responsibilities.
In the past 12 months to 31 December 2012, UBS Global Asset Management gave instructions to vote at 841 company meetings representing 10,354 separate resolutions.
