Weltklasse Zurich
29 August 2013
Weltklasse Zurich has repeatedly been the stage for unique athletics stories over the years. The very first meet back in 1928 saw nine-time Olympic champion Paavo Nurmi, a true giant of world athletics, line up at the start. Since then, countless global stars have given their all in Zurich's Letzigrund arena, reacting to the unique atmosphere of the sold-out stadium with unbelievable performances. The enthusiasm of the spectators and the professionalism of the organization ensure that Weltklasse Zurich attracts a host of top athletes every year. UBS has been the main sponsor of Weltklasse Zurich, one of the most important sporting events in Switzerland, since 1981.
You can also enjoy the entire program of events accompanying the Weltklasse Zurich Week - in particular “Jugend trainiert mit Weltklasse Zürich” (“Young athletes train with the world’s best”) held two days before the main meet. When the stars of tomorrow rub shoulders with the stars of today at eleven different locations across Switzerland, no wonder the children’s pulses are racing.
Young athletes train with the world's best
The international athletics meeting "Weltklasse Zürich" gives UBS the opportunity to support one of Switzerland's most important sporting events. As in previous years, the popular "Young athletes train with the world's best" will take place two days prior to the main event.
