Swiss Olympic was established in 1912, and serves as the umbrella organization for Swiss sport and as the National Olympic Committee for Switzerland. It promotes elite-level sport - in particular by ensuring an optimal environment for the Swiss delegation at the Olympic Games - and provides targeted support for grass-roots sporting activities. It also works with its 83 member associations and their 20,000 clubs and 1.6 million members who actively play sports, to keep Swiss sport healthy, respectful, and fair.
