UBS's commitment to culture brings us to Lugano and the most important musical event in Canton Ticino. Indeed, the Lugano Festival is an international review of classical music which stands out in the Regio Insubrica area for the sublime quality of the concerts on offer.

The stage of the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano, the Festival's historic home, has been graced by such international stars as Daniel Baremboin, Riccardo Muti, Cecilia Bartoli, the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra of Milan and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Lugano Festival was inaugurated in 2001 as a development of the city's already prestigious spring concert season (the "Primavera Concertistica"), which dates back to the early 1980s.

UBS has been the sole sponsor of the gala concert every year since 1998.
