The Piazza Grande provides a unique backdrop for one of the most renowned film festivals in the world: the Festival del Film Locarno. It shows film from the best angle, where film buffs can indulge their passion in a unique setting. What makes it very special is that the audience has a chance to decide which film will win the «Prix du Public UBS», presented on the final evening of the festival. Last year's lucky winner was «Lore» by Cate Shortland.
