2012 FORMULA 1 SHELL BELGIAN GRAND PRIX (Spa-Francorchamps) September 2
Circuit length: 7.004km
Race distance: 308.052km
Laps: 44
The clear favourite among drivers, Spa-Francorchamps’s mix of fast and slow corners and undulating surfaces make it one of the most challenging tracks in the world. Based on public roads, which wind like ribbons through the hills and forests of the Ardennes, Spa is a real drivers’ circuit. Iconic corners La Source, Eau Rouge, Pouhon and Blanchimont offer some of the most breathing places to watch an F1 car in anger. Its location leads to erratic weather conditions whereby it can be bone dry in the pits but pouring with rain at the other end of the circuit. The drivers all relish the challenge.
