The Canadian Grand Prix is one of the most popular races of the season for the people who work in the sport. The venue is unique and everyone enjoys the city of Montreal. Built on a man-made island, the circuit is named after Gilles Villeneuve, father of 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve. Gillles was the first Canadian to win a Grand Prix, at his home race in 1978. It's the first low downforce circuit of the year which makes it an interesting challenge for the teams. A combination of long straights and slow chicanes makes it one of the toughest tracks of the year on brakes, while variable temperatures and a low grip surface make it hard to predict tyre wear.
