UBS launches charity credit card
UBS is launching a charity credit card in conjunction with the UBS Optimus Foundation. The new UBS Optimus Foundation Charity Card supports the UBS Optimus Foundation in its educational and healthcare programmes for children and has all the same basic functions as a standard credit card.
From 15 December, UBS will be offering its first-ever charity credit card called the UBS Optimus Foundation Charity Card. UBS will pay a portion of the annual card fee and 0.5% of card spending to the non-profit UBS Optimus Foundation. The Charity Card allows UBS clients to combine cashless payments with contributing to a good cause. The UBS Optimus Foundation supports projects to improve the quality of life of children around the world, financing projects carried out by partner organizations to protect children from violence and to ensure they have access to education and medical care.
The specially designed Charity Card represents both an extra platform for the UBS Optimus Foundation to win new supporters and a welcome addition to the UBS product range.
The Charity Card costs CHF 111 annually as a main card or CHF 33 as a second or partner card. UBS pays CHF 22 per main card and CHF 16 per second or partner card, together with 0.5% of the annual card spending, to the UBS Optimus Foundation. The Charity Card is not part of the UBS KeyClub bonus system. All other terms and conditions of the UBS Optimus Foundation Charity Card are the same as the terms and conditions of the Classic and Standard Cards.
UBS Optimus Foundation
The UBS Optimus Foundation is a non-profit foundation set up by UBS. It focuses its activities on the welfare of people, particularly children. The UBS Optimus Foundation seeks to make a meaningful contribution in two core areas: children & talents and medical & biological research. Since UBS bears all the UBS Optimus Foundation's costs, all donations benefit the projects in full. Since its foundation in 1999, the UBS Optimus Foundation has supported more than 50 projects in 40 countries. It is financed by donations from UBS clients and contributions from UBS.
