UBS names European Investment Banking Heads
UBS today announced that it has appointed Hermann Prelle and Simon Warshaw as Joint Heads of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in its Investment Banking Department with immediate effect.
As part of the continued focus on driving the EMEA IBD business forward, Hermann Prelle
and Simon Warshaw will become Joint Heads of EMEA IBD, reporting to Alex Wilmot-
Sitwell, Joint Global Head IBD.
Hermann Prelle joined UBS in 2000 and is based in Frankfurt. Since 2002 he has led the
IBD business in Germany and has been instrumental in building many key client
relationships in Germany. The UBS IBD business in Germany under the leadership of Hermann currently ranks #2 overall based on Dealogic fees.
Simon Warshaw, based in London, joined UBS in 1986. During the 1990s he built up and
subsequently ran the Global Media Group before taking on joint leadership of the UBS IBD
business in the UK in 2003 alongside his key client responsibilities. Since that time the UK
IBD business has more than doubled in revenues and is currently ranked #1 in M&A based
on Dealogic fees and Thomson.
Hew Glyn Davies will now become sole Head of the IBD UK team.
UBS also announces the appointment of Mark Pohlmann and Martin Reitz as Joint Heads
of IBD Germany. Mark joined UBS in 2000 and has since led the German Equity Capital
Markets business. Martin has been with UBS since 2001 and is responsible for the coverage
of industrial clients in Germany.
