UBS Names Jeff McDermott and Alex Wilmot-Sitwell Joint Heads of European Investment Banking
UBS Investment Bank announced today that Jeff McDermott and Alex Wilmot-Sitwell have been named Joint Heads of its European Investment Banking department.
McDermott, who will relocate to London from New York, joined UBS in 2001 and had served as Managing Director and Head of the Global Industrial Group. "I look forward to joining our first class European team and to further unifying the business with our rapidly growing US franchise," said McDermott.
Alex Wilmot-Sitwell joined UBS in 1996 and was previously Managing Director and Head of European Client Coverage. Both McDermott and Wilmot-Sitwell are members of the Board of UBS Investment Bank. They will both join the Global Management Committee of the Investment Banking Department. "Our European client franchise continues to expand as we move towards our goal to build the world's leading investment bank,' said Wilmot-Sitwell. Chris Brodie has been named as Deputy Chairman of the Investment Banking Department. Brodie had been Head of the European Investment Banking business since 2000 through which time the business has reinforced its position as one of the market leading European competitors. In this new role, he will focus his efforts on senior client coverage. Brodie is a member of the Board of UBS Investment Bank and a member of the Global Management Committee of the Investment Banking Department.
McDermott, Wilmot-Sitwell and Brodie will continue to report to Robert Gillespie and Ken Moelis, Joint Global Heads of Investment Banking. These changes are with immediate effect.
