UBS Investment Bank strengthens oil and gas investment banking team

UBS Investment Bank today announced the appointment of Jorge MARTINEZ as head of its oil and gas group, Asia at UBS Investment Bank as well as of Anthony CARANGO, Scott WILSON, and Jia ZHAI as members of the team.

Martinez, was previously head of natural resources, Asia with Lehman Brothers. He will be joined by Anthony Carango, Scott Wilson and Jia Zhai who all were previously with Lehman Brothers.

Martinez joined the investment banking department of Lehman Brothers in 2000, and worked on a number of major capital market transactions including: Chinalco's acquisition of a 12% stake in Rio Tinto; and Sinopec's US$1.5 billion convertible bond, the largest CB to emanate from China.

Anthony Carango was based with Lehman Brothers in New York before relocating to Hong Kong earlier this year. He advised China Oilfield Services on its US$3.8 billion bid for Norway's Awilco Offshore.
