UBS India Service Centre in Hyderabad officially launched
Underlining its commitment to India, UBS AG today officially opened the UBS India Service Centre in Hyderabad. The Centre will provide UBS businesses with knowledge services (including research and analytics), business process offshoring (including transaction and data processing), and IT infrastructure support.
The opening represents the first phase of UBS's offshoring initiative in India. Covering 11.5 acres the Hyderabad campus has been built to accommodate a sizeable operation by the end of the year, with the potential for significant expansion in the future.
"The opening of the UBS India Service Centre is the latest, and the most significant, of UBS's offshoring initiatives. It is representative of our continuing determination to provide our businesses with a flexible and efficient infrastructure. In addition, by matching the global revenue base with a diversified global cost base, concentration risks are reduced," said Clive STANDISH, Chief Financial Officer of UBS AG.
"The India Service Centre is an important initiative for UBS. The Centre's capabilities will provide UBS with increased flexibility to meet its resourcing requirements, reduce costs, rationalize systems and streamline processes. Hyderabad offers world class infrastructure, a stable economic and political environment and, above all, a sizable talent pool" added Vipul KHANNA, Chief Executive Officer of the new operation.
The opening of the UBS India Service Centre will complement existing UBS offshoring, on-shoring and outsourcing around the world including initiatives such as the Sydney IT Help-desk and the outsourcing of IT development work in Shenzhen.
