UBS strengthens Taiwan Equity Risk Management team
Alex CHI has joined the UBS Equity Risk Management team in Hong Kong with responsibility for marketing Taiwan derivative products in the region. He will report to Chi-Won YOON, Head of Asian Equity Risk Management.
"Alex's extensive experience of financial markets across the Asia Pacific region gained at CSFB and, before that, at McKinsey & Company will add another dimension to UBS's equity risk management capability in the region," said Yoon.
"Alex's experience marketing a range of products - including equities, currencies, interest rates, and credit derivatives to major corporates in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China - will be invaluable, and underlines our commitment to ensuring we provide our clients with expertise in every market. In light of his experience, Alex will have a secondary role working with Matthew KODER, Head of our Equity Capital Markets Group to enhance our equity and equity-linked franchise with major corporate clients in the region," he added.
Chi joins from Macronix International, the Taiwan-based dual-listed semiconductor manufacturer, where as special assistant to the President, he developed and executed strategic and financial plans.
Between 1994 and 2002, he worked for Credit Suisse First Boston, as a regional corporate derivatives marketer and investment banker, and most recently as Head of Financial Products Marketing in Greater China. Before that, he held a variety of positions at CSFB in the financial products division, where he led efforts to combine investment-banking products with derivative products and services.
Before that, Chi was a McKinsey management consultant servicing clients throughout Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Chi joins as an Executive Director and will be based in Hong Kong.
